I visited here in 1972 on my way to the excavations at Babylon further north. Today it is probably nothing like I remember since Iraq is now one of the most dangerous places on earth. Perhaps one day I will be able to return and repeat a trip that took me through Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Syria in six weeks. Such a lost opportunity for fascinating travel.
