Best monastic ruins in Ireland! the history and remaining structures are really neat. We detoured to here on our way from Dublin to Galway and it was worth it. they show a 15 minute video and i recommend watching it as it explains much of the history and it makes more sense when you are walking around the grounds. Also, if you like graveyards, this is a good stop. Tons of headstones. There is a new 3-wall glass structure on the grounds for religious services that are held there yearly. There is a little cafe there that is also very good. We had a bowl of homemade soup and soda bread which was nice on a chilly day.

The history and scenery of the settlement were amazing. The whispering arch was my favorite!
