St Patrick's Street (Sráid Naomh Pádraig in Irish), affectionately called Pana by Corkonians, is the main shopping street in Ireland. Since its redevelopment in 2004, it has twice won the award as Ireland's best shopping street.[1]
The street itself runs in a curve from Saint Patrick's Quay to Daunt Square, where it meets Grand Parade. Saint Patrick's Street gets its curved shape because it is built over an arm of the .[2] It is home to a number of notable retail outlets such as Debenhams, Penneys, Dunnes Stores and Brown Thomas. There are a number of very good department stores there. Also you will often find street entertainment, such as music, dancing, art work displays. Additonally, around Christmas time, the street looks incredibly festive. Worth checking out! May 24, 2010 You will likely find yourself on this street whether you mean to or not when you visit Cork . The street has great shopping, and is located near the main bus terminal. There are lots of great restaurants off of the side roads too, and leading up to St. Patrick’s Day this street gets pretty festive!
