Dún Aonghasa is one of the many (but undoubtedly the most famous!) prehistoric forts on Inismore, the largest of the three Aran Islands located in the west of Ireland. The fort offers a magnificent impressive as it is located on a high cliff, from which you can see the Atlantic Ocean. Only make sure that the weather is fine when you go there, as there is a strong will up the cliff ;)

Though an aerial view is probably more impressive, it cannot get much better. The cliffs here are immense, pale and a bit scary. People actually sit on the edge! More impressive even that the Cliffs of Moher because it has more over a historic and otherworldly feel, and there are less tourists. The most weather-beaten place I could image, really like being on a different planet.

Huge rocks, amazing view for the Atlantic ocean. We cycled up in a rough weather but it definetely worth it! Our tour guide provided so much information about the previous times which made it even more interesting.
