Bit of a strange large needle piercing the Dublin sky. The story goes that in this spot there used to stand a statue which was blown up by the IRA, they didn't exactly do a good job, most of the statue was still standing but the windows in the whole area were smashed to pieces. The army was called in to dispose of the remains of the statue, they did an even worse job, statue still standing, all recently replaced windows were destroyed again. I love this story and apperantly so did the Irish because a song about this all stayed in the charts for weeks.

It is !!! That's like a sky-rocketed launch of Eire in the mid-80ies to first 2000ies in economy, in finaces, in Quality-of-Life actually!... I fell in love with this symbol indeed... ;)
This polished reinforced steel 120 meters spire into sky, just in the middle of the broadest street in the Europe... it's amazing sight!!! ans site... and these enigmatic patterns of the surface of the monument... it's something druidic - at least for me!... ;)

Quite nice place, good spot for meeting somebody. Usually you can see a lot of people looking around. But anyway it is one of those strange things, that I can't understand, why they were made.

If you want a cool sculpture go somewhere else...it looks like a knitting needle in the middle of a really interesting urban center.
