it is an amazing place, especially if you are at the man-side of the western wall and go to the left, where the jewish people read the thora and discuss about it.

The Western or Wailing Wall as it is also known is worth seeing for the praying Jews and also for the proximity to the mosque next to it just behind the walls. Sometimes there is a lot of tension built up during Friday prayers and it is better to avoid going there on that day usually since there is a chance of something going wrong then. To get a good view of both the wall as well as the mosque behind it go up to some of the side streets that go above the wall and you will get a wonderful view from up there.

4000 year old walls with marks left over from the stone masons, ancient tunnels, backdrop for a lot of Sunday school stories. Ground Zero for three religions that really don't particularly work and play well together. Religious pilgrims, clueless tourists, crabby guys with automatic weapons, crabby guys that don't have automatic weapons but who clearly wish they did. : )
