Jul 12, 2009 I loooove Capri! I loved walking around the island looking at the differnt little shops and seeing some of the AMAZING views but my favorite experience was taking a boat ride into the Blue Grotto. YOU MUST DO THIS! Check what the tides are doing when you plan your visit because if the sea is to high you will not be able to go into the cave. The tour of the cave is quick because it's only small area but it's the whole experience of getting in the boat and going into the cave (a bit tricky and scary if the water is a little high). They say, when the light shines into the cave just right, you can splash some water up and the droplets will look like a thousand diamonds raining down! Nov 22, 2009 This is plain thievery. They will make you pay to get on a boat to visit the Grotto. Then, you'll have to pay for a smaller one to actually carry you to the entrance. Yet, they'll ask you at the point for even more money to enter. And what do you get for the insane amount of money you've paid to the point? a two minutes round trip into the place which will be crowded with people and deafening with talk and ill sung italian songs. If you really want to see this, wait until after 5 p.m (business closed) hire a boat all to yourself and swim inside at will when there is noone around (it's legal and all) but NEVER take the organized tour!!!! Nov 13, 2008 The moment I swam into this Grotto, I wanted to build my house there! There being one problem though, it being in the sea :-)! This is truly one of the most beautiful spots I have seen so far. After a long walk on the island along the cliffs I took the bus down here and went for a nice swim into the grotto! Dont take the boat in, this'll cost you money and besides that, you dont get the same experience! Aug 4, 2009 The Blue Grotto is a once in a life time experience. The water is beautiful and amazing. Because of the tides and currently rise of the sea level it seems to be more difficult to enter the grotto but it was worth every cent. The only thing scary about it was the entering and exiting of the grotto. You will see nothing like it anywhere else. Jan 9, 2009 Unbelievably amazing! Nature at it's best! A ferry from Naples, followed by a small powered boat to the cave and then a transfer to a row boat. The rower seemed grumpy and there was a traffic jam to get in to the cave, but as soon as we entered he sang in beautiful Italian and we were in awe of the most beautiful blue I have ever seen :)
