Piazza di Spagna
About Piazza di Spagna
The Piazza di Spagna is the plaza located at the base of the Spanish Steps. It was named after the Spanish Embassy and was in the middle of the Strangers’ Quarter where most of the foreigners in Rome lived. In the Piazza di Spagna is a 17th century fountain (Fountain of the Old Boat) that was designed by Pietro Bernini. The poet John Keats lived and died in a house on the corner of the Piazza di Spagna, and that has been turned into a museum for him now.

It was named after the Spanish Embassy. Piazza di Spagna, with the Steps (in Italian called "scalinata di Trinità dei Monti"), in one of the most famous place in the World. Dec 15, 2009 Beside some other places one of the most beautiful ones in Rome. You have to see it. Just sit down, hear the music, talk to people, look at the people. It's amazing. Apr 12, 2010 the Spanish steps are beautiful, but for me, it was standing in the spot where A. Hepburn ate the ice-cream cone in Roman Holiday
