Aug 10, 2009 The trip to Rome will be unforgettable. Rome is an easily walkable city, which is great for first-time visitors wanting snapshots of must-see sights including the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the romantic Piazza Navona. You will find the Vatican – the religious center of the Roman Catholic faith and home to the Pope – directly across the river. After a blessing at the Vatican, stroll the streets of Trastevere or the Jewish Ghetto and dine on fine cuisine at small wine bars and sidewalk cafes. Rome is home to some of the earliest artifacts in the world, but it also boasts a lively modern lifestyle. One minute you're staring at the Colosseum and your way through the Roman Forums, the next minute you're fighting crowds in line at one of the city's many pizzerias. And the shoe shopping is fantastic!! Oct 9, 2011 I got this same picture when I was there. The Vatican and Colosseum are world class attractions, but the Trevi Fountain is clearly a lower rank -- unless you are a fan of the movie "Three Coins in the Fountain." The fountain does not have enough clear space around it to really show it off. Jan 12, 2010 If you choose your hotel wisely all three of these amazing places are within easy walking distance of each other. If you walk from the Coloseum to the Vatican it will take you about 1/2 hour. The Trevi fountain is along the way, down a little side street, watch for the signs!
