The Villa d'Este is a villa situated at Tivoli , near Rome . Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site , it is a masterpiece of Italian architecture and especially garden design.

We took a tour to Villa d;Este from Rome. The Water Gardens are the main attraction, not so much the villa. There are several levels and and many, many foutains. They have a water organ that plays songs at certain times of the day. It is a very beautiful place.

Villa D'Este has some of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. Sculptures and fountains, both grotesque and beautiful, are everywhere. I spent a whole afternoon wandering it's labyrinth of paths, hidden nooks and sunny spots.

The garden has 500 fountains and the view of the countryside is stunning.
