Aug 26, 2009 Piazza Castello is situated in the center of Turin and it was designed by Ascanio Vitozzi in 1584.With an area of 40,000 square meters it is considered one of the most important square of the city. Prestigious the palaces that rise like the Royal Palace and Palazzo Madama important residences sabaude.Il Royal Palace was designed by Ascanio Vittozzi and later restructured by Carlo of Castellamonte; remarkable cleared the molten iron outer Palagi.Palazzo of Madama, built by the Romans, was later renovated and decorated by wise Filippo Juvarra who built the front side. Also some good views; on the one side you can look down via Po all the way down to the Gran Madre (where the holy Grail is supposed to be buried) on the other side you have a great view on to the snowy tops of the alps. Some really nice historical buildings on and near the square.
