Jul 18, 2010 Absolutly loved it, lovely mixture of ancient remains and baroque splendour. Just get lost in the many little streets and discover the little treasures that are spread all over the island. There are two lungomare, passeggio Adorno will give you a good view over the harbour, while Lungomare di Levante on the east side offers good views over the Ionian Sea. Do'nt forget to go inside the duomo to see the ancient temple of Athena. There are lots of little caffees and restaurants, some of them are real tourist traps. But take you're time and you'll find the genuine deal. Mar 21, 2009 It's the old town of the city, an island linked to the dryland by three bridges. Here you can find whatever you want...It's full of pubs, restaurants, monuments, like the Apollo Greek Teample, or the Cathedral and a wonderful fountain near the sea with spring water, where you can admire the "Papire" used in the past to make papers.... Jul 21, 2009 It is a pleasure to get lost in the small narrow street of this island, anyway living part of the town... Jul 10, 2009 It was wonderful trip, ruins of old castello, especially walking on streets with the Greek names!!!
