About Galleria Dell'accademia ( David Museum)
The Galleria dell'Accademia is most famous for housing Michelangelo's David, but it also includes some of his other statues. The museum also contains Renaissance paintings (including a couple Botticellis) and a room with plaster models that were used by artisans to plan their statue carvings.

The statue of David is very impressive up close and definitely merits some time sitting around and admiring it. There are also some decent paintings and some other Michelangelo sculptures to look at, but certainly nothing that would compare to the Uffizi or Bargello for paintings and sculptures respectively.

I simply loved it:) great patio with lot of statues, plants... Quiet, calm place in the center of Florence... If you're student, you have nice ticket discount :) And you can make photos, but only on patio. If you are going to Florence, and have some time for sightseeing, go there:) You won't regret:)

you have to go see the real statue of David inside it's own museum with a few other michalengo peices but call ahead and make a ticket booking it's so worth the shorter line and go first thing in the morning cause it's always crowed and you could end up waiting a few hours otherwise.
