The Uffizi Gallery is a museum in Florence that has an unparalleled collection of Italian Renaissance works. The building was built by the legendary Medici family in the 16th century and morphed into a gallery for their painting collections and then finally into a public gallery.

Many of the paintings on display are world famous and recognizable to people with at least a passing interest in art. There are works by artists such as Botticelli, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, and Leonardo da Vinci.

L'edificio ospita una superba raccolta di opere d' arte , comprendente tra l'altro la maggiore collezione di dipinti del Botticelli , divisa in varie sale allestite per scuole e stili in ordine cronologico. Nel 2007 è stato visitato da 1.615.986 persone [1] .

Una de las ciudades mas bellas de Europa......cuna de grandes artistas como Leonardo Da Vinci, Miguel Angel Buonarotti, Los Médicis..centro cultural y político, cuna del Renacimiento Italiano........museos, galerias, increibles monumentos y edificos historicos.........a la ciudad la atreviesa el Rio Arno y en el se encuentra el Ponte Vecchio (famosísimo Puente Viejo), lleno de pequeñas tienditas..........un lugar hermosísimo y lleno de historia.............

I donät know this thing about art galleries... I was standing in front of Birth of Venus and when I felt like going to the next painting after 30 seconds I was looking at everybody around me. First after an other 2 minutes of looking I dared to leave for the next painting without really understanding what was so great about the painting.... Rather go to the art galleriy at palazzo pitti with flamish renesance art. It's nicer in my opinion!

The Uffizi Gallery has a great collection of Italian Renaissance works, including Botticellis, Raphaels, and Da Vincis. The museum itself is small compared to others such as the Louvre, although this just means that the scale is manageable and you can see everything in under a day.

Waits can be very long (2 hours for me in February), so reserving tickets in advance may be prudent.

Great gallery... excellent to observe personally beautiful works of art by some of the most acclaimed Renaissance artists :) It's totally worth it!!
The best choice is to buy tickets online or at Orsanmichele, which is not far from the Gallery and allows you to buy tickets on the day of the visit! Lines at the gallery to buy tickets are way too long!
