Its cute, saint marks square is GREAT for people watching. Overall, the place is slightly overrated. Gondola rides are so expensive, but watching the boats go by from a hidden street is a fun past time. My favorite thing to do in Venice was to get lost. It has so many winding narrow streets and such a small area. The bad thing is-everyone i met who was actually from Venice hated the place. Its totally geared for tourists i guess. Not a place you would want to spend your life, but good for a look or two
