One thing that ruined the Falls for me was the person handing out necklaces then upon our entrance, he asked us for money saying that it cost 2 for $5. I gave him $1 and he left. Someone that looked like they worked at the Falls, was telling us to get our water now because they won't have any inside, and she handed me an icy water bottle, then told us to pay up 2 for $5 again! So we gave it back to them. If you plan on climbing the Falls, which I regret not doing ... the water shoes cost $7 to rent. I believe there is a cost for a guide climbing up the Falls, so you may want to double check. My bf and I were walking around and usually when you ask someone to help you take a photo, it doesn't cost you anything, but that was not what I experienced here. So you may be better off asking other tour members to help you and return the favor.

Climbing the falls with the guides is a ton of fun! You'll see several people on the internet complaining about how they wish they could do it on their own, but in all honesty it's great going up with the guides. They keep everyone organised so that you can enjoy the natural slides and pools one at a time. So many tourists visit the falls that if it weren't controlled, congestion and crowding would be a big problem. Plus safety is a big factor too; there are several places that are tricky without the helpful hand of one of the guides to pull you up. I loved it and the guys took tons of pictures for us with our waterproof camera.

Dunn's River Falls is a famous waterfall near Ocho Rios, Jamaica and a major Caribbean tourist attraction. The falls empty into the Caribbean Sea. It is one of the very few rivers in the world that actually fall directly into the sea.

The waterfalls are staggered and span some 600 feet, several small
lagoons exist interspersed between the vertical sections of the falls.
Climbing up the waterfalls is a popular tourist activity and is often,
but not exclusively performed with the help of tour guides from the
park. The falls can be walked up with relative ease, often a human
chain is used snaking up the falls behind the tour guide.

Dunns River Falls is just Amazing... If you are in Jamaica and don't visit Dunns then you've not really seen Jamaica in all her Beauty!!!
Dunns is on the North Coast of Jamaica about 7 to 8 mnts from down town Ocho Rios. The Falls are absolutely gorgeous and there are guides who can help you climb the falls. However if you wish to just sit around and enjoy the natural beauty around you can do just that... there are a few restaurants away from the falls for some local lunch and the grounds are well maintained and clean..
A must visit if in Ja

was amazing to climb, need water shoes! they don't help though b/c i fell about 10 times. super fun though, worth every penny. avoid the market place they force you to walk through on your way out. sellers are pushy and force you to buy things you don't want by saying they are free and then asking for a donation. sellers get very offended when you ignore them or tell them to leave you alone.
