This is the place that i love the most in Japan besides Hiroshima. This beautiful island is the most wonderful place i've ever seen, full of culture and beauty in this place you can see pure nature and Japanese dos and variate things. Whether you go with your family or alone, this is a place where you can stay for weeks and still have things to do, there is an aquarium, temples, several activities (treking, swimming with animals, birds sightseeing, dinning, animal feeding, etc.) i think there is a zoo aswell, and deer walking arround that you can touch and feed. The temple door is in the water and seeing it during sunset is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen. You musn't go without trying one of their traditional sweet called Momijimanju (hope the spelling is correct) that are delicious. So whether you'r alone or with someone, withoug time or sick of seeing the same things, this is the place to go, you will love it. Ohhh i forgot that you can buy a special card at the train station in Hiroshima that includes the 1-hour train there, 1 day of bus in Hiroshima and the ferry to the island for less than 5 euros.

wonderful place. a big Torii gate which stands out in the sea in front of the island. the shrine itself is worth watching. and also, the ropeway to the top of the mountain. an amazing view.
