The new Kyoto Station building was built on the occasion of the 1,200th anniversary of the Heian Capital foundation. It was opened to the public in 1997 and stands in perfect contrast with many foreign tourists' image of Kyoto as the capital of traditional Japan.

Kyoto Station is the city's main station served by all trains of Japan Railways, including shinkansen, Kintetsu Railways and the subway. A large bus terminal is located in front of the station building.

A review? Why? Just in order to lure you into visiting it? Well, I don't see any chance you can miss it, once in Kyoto :))) And it's in the central part of the city, so you should have a chance to pass by and watch it closely (instead of running wild with suitcases in both hands ;) it's worth it!
