Really excellent museum about the Tale of Genji, the world's "first novel", written by Murasaki Shikibu in the 11th century (and taking part partially in Uji). The museum was inspired by a traditional Heian mansion, and contains multimedia displays, including a marvelous film called "Ukifune" (a puppet version of the Uji chapters), to bring the world of the novel to life.
