Beautiful setting and plenty to see. The animals look healthy and there are plenty of activities, including a petting zoo where animals such as sheep and goats walk around freely to be petted by visitors of all ages, and a variety of food are available.
It is the oldest zoo in Japan and there is a traditional side to it, such as the 5-storied pagoda and a tea house.

I had a great time. As well as enjoying seeing all the animals I enjoyed the many photographic opportunities and eating a traditional japanese lunch. The zoo also boasted a beautiful lake and walking around was a real pleasure for the eyes. It's the oldest zoo in Japan and definitely worth seeing.
