Getting there:
Yokohama Chinatown (Yokohama Chukagai) is Japan's largest chinatown, located in central Yokohama. Yokohama Chinatown quickly developed, after the port of Yokohama had been one of the first Japanese ports to be opened to foreign trade in 1859. It became the residence of the many Chinese traders who settled down in the city.

Oct 23, 2008 China Town cant be negotiated in one day. It is massive and it seems odd that is in Japan, but its really authentic and alot of fun. The best part is the food. The dim sum is the best, dont miss it. There are authentic temples, great shops to buy anything from chinese paintings to bamboo woks. The most enjoyable time to go is in the warm summer evenings when everything is eluminated. Try to avoid during winter, its freaking cold! If you are there in January the chinese new year parade is awsome. Just be careful, Japanese people get a little pushy! Oct 15, 2008 Wow china town in Yokohama is beautiful, what i love the most was the hanging ducks lol!!, nah im kidding there are like a lot of restaurants and shops, where you can buy from souvenirs and food, to random chinese good luck charms. The food is tasty, very chinese but served as in Japan of course (at least where i ate). With a lot of places to visit (temples, shops, theatre, restaurants) i think China town in Yokohama is a must see in Japan.
