'Onsen' (hot spring bathing) is a must-do experience in Japan's volcanic islands. There are all sorts of onsen resorts in Japan, but Fukushima area is one of the best because it's COLD up there in winter. There is something delicious about sitting in natural thermal waters, with a cup of hot sake, looking out onto a snow-covered hillside and breathing in fresh, icy air.
