Jordan River or Maghtas is where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. You will be surprised for you can’t see clear running water but a narrow and muddy river. However, this river is very important to pilgrims who visit it to cleanse their sins. Moreover, Pope Benedict XVI visited this river during his pilgrimage to Jordan .
