Did this on the way from Petra to Akkaba and it was pretty enjoyable. I wouldn't go out of the way to do it, but it is interesting to retrace Lawrence of Arabia's steps in the comfort of an air-conditioned van. The camel ride at bedouin camp was fun too

The desert safari in Wadi Rum is really worth. It is an exotic jeep small journey around the desert. You will visit a bedouin's improvised camp too.
