Snake Park
About Snake Park
From the park's website:"The Nairobi Snake Park(NSP) was closed in June 2008 to pave way for renovation and upgrading. It is one of the NMK's attractions located within the compound of the Nairobi National Museum. Before it was closed, the park was extremely popular with visitors, both local and international. It displayed cobras, puff adders, mambas and the large African-Rock python (non-poisonous) found only in Kenya. Several species of crocodiles found in Africa, the American alligator, fresh water terrapins and tortoises were also on display. Aquariums holding coral fish from the East African lakes and rivers were a main feature of the park. The current renovation is expected to transform the park to a modern reptile park with more interactive displays. The project is funded by the Government of Kenyaand is expected to be complete by early 2009."

Oct 4, 2008 We were attempting to go to the National History Museum, but it was closed for renovations (this was in Dec '08- I think it has since re-opened). It turned out to be a funny little adventure. It was pretty small, but the snakes were pretty amazing. Nothing like a snake with a head the size of a dinner plate to remind you about using your peripheral vision in the bush... If your in Nairobi anyway, why not go? Oct 16, 2008 I went to this place hoping that I would have nightmares but I didn't. Tha was kind of disappointing yet in itself the snakes were just slitherish. Jun 17, 2008 It is just a small park with some funny plants, some reptiles and fish, but when you are not used to the african snakes and fish i think it is funny
