About Xe Pian National Biodiversity Conservation Areas
One of two National Biodiversity areas in the Attapeu province,Xe Pian forest takes up an area about 2,400 square kilometres in size. This forest is made up of evergreen, mixed-evergreen and deciduous trees.
Resident animals include tigers, banteng, irrawaddy dolphins, the Asian elephant, the Asiatic black bear, and more. Xe Pian also has some of the highest number of birds varieties; seven of which have not yet been found anywhere else in Laos.
