Situated in the province of Khammouane, the Phoun Hin Boun NBCA features a range of activities from trekking to rafting, or kayaking.  Cave enthusiasts will also find many caves to explore. 

The terrain in Phoun Hin Boun covers a mix from from forest to enclosed valleys surrounded by cliffs and bluffs.  The multiple rivers that flow through the region often descend underground to an extensive cave system - the largest of which is a 7.5km cave that is navigable between Konglor and the Natan village by boat.
