Phou Kau Mountain, located near Pakse, is interesting because the top 10km of the mountain resembles a linga, which is a phallic symbol f Shiva.  "Natural" longas (Svāyambhuva) have been revered by Khmers, and Lingaparvata was considered the religious focal point of Shrestapura, an ancient Khmer city.  It is considered the sacred mountain of the south.
