Situated on the rugged and steep ridges near the Thai border, Nam Phui NBCA is home to three different rivers that drain into the mighty Mekong river.  These include the Nam Phui, Nam Phoun, and Nam Lai.

Nam Phui NBCA is not well developed, though a thriving population of wildlife lives in the area, from elephants, to tigers, asiatic black bears, possibly the Sumatran rhino, the Lar gibbon, and more.
