Apr 5, 2009 Beit Eddine Palace is perched on a hill that overlooks a green valley. The Palace used to be Emir’s Bachir II (1804) residence and official receiving palace. The entrance is a huge courtyard with a big fountain in the middle. Besides, there are gardens adorned with cypress trees, flowers and fountains. Inside there are sculpted designs, marble inlays, carved ceiling and a remarkable set of baths. The Emir was a wise man. On the walls there are inscriptions about values, "An hour of justice is worth a thousand hours of prayer," says one. "Fear God and you will begin to be wise”. Besides, the Palace includes a church and a mosque. Summer Festivals are annually held there; prominent artists from all over the world come to perform on the stage of this spectacular palace.
