Ambalavao Andrefana, Madagascar

Established in 1999, Andringitra is not the most easily accesible park in Madagascar, but rewards visitors with higher altitude hiking and a different ecosystem than at lower elevations. More than a dozen types of lemurs can be found here, along with plenty of other flora and fauna.

I rank this as the second most impressive park in Madagascar, after Ranomafana. It is more isolated, meaning fewer visitors, although not too far from Ambalavao. The hiking up to waterfalls and some of the highest peaks in all of Madagascar are challenging, and steep at times, but worth the 360 pano views when you get to the top! The park includes three distinct ecosystems, and at the higher elevations it can get very cold at night - close to freezing, something you won't experience at virtually any other park on the island.

it's easy to get to compared to other locations like the tsingy... plus it7s not crowded- far from it when i was there i didn't see anyone except my travel buddy and the guide
the views from the top of pic boby are fantastic plus it7s a mountain anyone can climb :)
plus try catching the bull market in ambalavao, believe me it's a blast trying to negotiate the price on one...
