Tiomans golden age was probably in the early 90's. The beaches are still ok, but the infrastructure has decayed somewhat, and the overall experience is far below the island further north. Tioman is still a nice place for snorklers and sun bathers though.

Beautiful! Not overrun with tourists while we were there. Excellent snorkeling, and a rugged path through the jungle to a secluded "waterfall". We saw wild monkeys!

We stayed at a nice rustic resort on Tioman, primarily for diving. Was scenic and relaxing with a family atmosphere
