What makes Langkawi Island so popular?
Despite of the fact that Langkawi Island is a duty free island, there are other reasons causing it to be so popular. Langkawi Island is famous for its natural geoparks. Many tourists are coming from all around the world just to visit the amazing geoparks. In Langkawi Island , there are three geoparks which have been given the status of World Geoparks by UNESCO; they are: Kilim Kart Geoforest Park , Machincang Cambrian Geopark, and Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest Park . If you like to enjoy natural sceneries, you can visit one of those geoparks. Besides the incredibly amazing geoparks, Langkawi Island also offers you with numerous choices of the best beaches in Malaysia like Kok Bay, Cenang Bay, Burau Bay, and last but not least Datai Bay.
Kok Bay
Kok Bay is locally known as Pantai Kok. It is a peaceful beach with beautiful limestone hills as the background.
Cenang Bay
Cenang Bay is locally known as Pantai Cenang. This bay has the unending stretches of white sand and contoured by many tall coconuts trees. This would be a great photographic object if you like to take pictures of natural landscapes.
Burau Bay
Burau Bay which is locally known as Pantai Burau is the most favorite destination for migratory birds. If you enjoy looking at group of birds hanging around rocky outcrops, this might also be your favorite place too.
Datai Bay
Most people like this bay the best because this bay is a great combination of beautiful sea and exotic forests. The sceneries here are awesome and can not be described by words. You can’t believe how spectacular the sceneries you can see in this bay unless you see them by yourself.

Getting there:
There are several ways. If you are going to take a flight, there is an airport at Langkawi, so you can reach there directly from KLIA at Kuala Lumpur. The other way is through ferry from take-off point at Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis.
