Nice beach area with a big strip of shops and restaurants. The most amazing thing I thought about this area of Malaysia are the beach cats. I'm used to seeing dogs on the beach all over SE Asia, but never cats! It was adorable to see the beach cats playing in the sand and even stealing small fish from the water’s edge!

Nice beach area, close to the airport (but as it isn't that busy you don't get disturbed). Quite a few Backpacker Hostels and also some more "expensive" resorts with chalets close to the beach.
