The Monday market in Djenne is a large, bustling locals market that attracts people from all over the region  Because it is a locals market and sells little of interest to tourists it is relatively hassle free.  You will find everything here from fruit and veg to fabric (and men willing to make it into clothes on the spot for you) and, of course, goats.

The Monday market is definitely something worth experiencing.  It's big, busy and noisy and certainly interesting!

One of the things to see in Mali, although the adobe mosque is the real highlight.
