Kidal is an interesting little town situated in the Sahara.  Dry, hot and dusty with not a lot to see or do it's a place that you visit to see how the locals live rather than to experience the nightlife!

While there isn't a lot to do here and it's hot and dusty, there's something quite likable about Kidal.  You can happily wander the streets in the later afternoon/early evening (ie when there is still light but the sun isn't as strong) and take some wonderful photos of local people and desert settings.  I really enjoyed the time I spent here but it's hard to really define why!
