As it was intended as knight's capital it actually never really was one.. However the square in front the St.Paul's cathedral is an authentic open air museum, as actually all Mdina is..! This town is inhibited of only 256 persons.. Maybe because of the permanent wind around here..:)) Mdina is builded on a highest point around those places as a medieval rule.

A beautiful place in one of Malta's two jewels. Definitely worth sacrifcing half a day at the beach to come down to Mdina and check it out, this square included.
