Majuro Atoll
About Majuro Atoll
Majuro Atoll is the most important atoll in the Marshall Islands, as it has nearly half its population and is the political and economic center of the country. The D-U-D Municipality (Delap, Uliga, and Darrit Islands) on Majuro is the capital of the Marshall Islands. Potential activities include riding in a traditional outrigger canoe in the lagoon, diving at one of Majuro’s many fine dive sites to see tropical fish, sharks, and wreck sites, and lying on the fine white sand beach at Laura. Another interesting site is the Alele Museum and Public Library, which contains a small collection of interesting exhibits on Marshallese culture.
