Dec 21, 2008 A beautiful island nature reserve which is home to many rare and endangered species, including the Pink Pigeon, Mauritius Fody, Olive white eye, Telfair Skink and Giant Aldabran Tortoise. The island is managed by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation and is undergoing restoration back to it's natural state. The Wildlife Foundation organise tours to the island where the staff tell you all about the history of the island and the animals there. It's a coralline island so can be a bit uneven underfoot in places and it's also hot, hot, hot here with limited shade so take water and whaetevr else you like to keep you cool. Make sure you take your camera for both the island and the boat ride across!
