Oct 25, 2008 The Pyramids of Teotihuacan are amazing. I arrived early in the morning, and was glad I did as it got very hot later in the day. As I walked down the Avenue of the Dead, my imagination was racing. Who built these structures, what was daily life like during that time, what had happened to the civilization that lived here? It was exciting and each structure fueled my wonder. I was happy to find that I could climb the Pyramid of the Sun, the third largest pyramid in the world. It was a good climb and well worth my efforts. Once on top, I was afforded grand views of the entire Citadel and the entire area. I also climbed the Pyramid of the Moon. Both pyramids are very impressive. After leaving the Pyramid of the Moon I made my way to some subterranean passages that revealed an ancient housing complex. At every corner, I found myself amazed by what I saw. I enjoyed my visit and my day’s explorations. I took the time to shop for some keep-sakes among the many vendors. I also inadvertently wondered into an area that had been closed to visitors (although it was not marked or posted) and found myself in the company of two Mexican officers with rifles. They were professional and one spoke perfect English and politely put me back on the right track. That evening, back at the hotel, I sat enjoying a few cold beverages and found my mind visiting the pyramids and retracing the steps that I had taken earlier that day, steps that others had taken back in 350 AD. It was all and still is so amazing. Good journeys! Mar 13, 2009 This is a very cool place to be! Go early in the morning when it's not so hot and not so many people climbing the Sun Pyramid. If you sart from the beginnig, it takes a good 30 to 40 minutes to get to the first Pyramid but only about 10-15 minutes to climb up. Don't buy from the vendors at the bottom of the Sun Pyramid as they will rip you off. If you go find a bathroom, there will be a souvenier area that sells the same items and they will bargain with you. You can get what you want a lot less. The obsidien turtles are a nice gift. Oct 20, 2008 Must see. Finding the right bus proved a challenge. I advise to go early – it gets hot out there! And there’s less tourists and hawkers early. There is a restaurant on site, but the food is terrible and overpriced. Wear comfortable shoes – it’s quite a hike. There are shopes (water, ice cream, chips, etc and craft) on the opposite side to where you get let off the bus at the main entrance. Oct 3, 2009 Amazing visit if you do not mind waking a lo,t under a really hot sun. Very recommended to bring up with you a cap and water, it's a very mystical place, where you'll experience an amazing adventure, on week days is the best days to visit, cos' there's less people then on weekends. Feb 3, 2009 It's well worth the journey. The ruins of the city of Teotihuacan are vast and spectacular. The 3 pyramides are huge and can be climbed. Take it easy though. You are so high above sea level here that even the fittest person will feel out of breath.
