One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever visited and if you love snorkeling or simply enjoy lying on a nice sandy beach, you must visit this place if you happen to be staying in the resorts in the Mayan Riviera. This is one of the places where I recommend you taking a taxi to get to since it's not that close to the main highway; the Connectivo won't drop you off right at the beach. As always, double check with the front desk of your hotel for what is a reasonable rate for the taxi ride and negotiate for a fair taxi fare.

Taj Kumal is the only villa on Akumal's magnificent main beach.
This is a prized location and a perfect setting for a tropical vacation.

There's a good chance to see sea turtles. And there are not as many tourists as are in Cancun or Playa del Carmen.

Beautiful and great snorkeling to be had here! We saw 6 sea turtles when we snorkeled off the beach.
