May 22, 2009 AT first you’ll be bewildered by its location; it’s on the edge of a cliff that is standing majestically on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea . The entrance fee is 13 Euro. The aquarium, which is in the basement, contains more than 4,000 species of fish. You don’t need a guide as there’s an explanation about each kind. Upstairs you can see equipment used in the sea and skeletons of whales and other large sea animals. At the roof, there’s a terrace café with a marvelous view of Monaco . There’s also a souvenir shop. If you like the sea world, you’d greatly enjoy your visit and you should dedicate at least three hours for the tour. Jun 26, 2008 Inaugurated in 1910 by its founder, Prince Albert I, this exceptional museum of marine sciences is a monumental architectural masterpiece with a grandiose façade rising majestically above the sea to a height of 279 feet. It took 11 years to build, using 100,000 tons of stone from La Turbie. Oct 9, 2008 It's built into the side of a cliff so some of the fish are actually in the Mediterranean. When you leave the Aquarium, you can sit in an outdoor theatre with the most awesome views
