Rent a snowboard and hit the dunes, one of the cheapest and most fun activities in the desert. The only downside is that each ride involves an uphill walk with the board on your back.

Watch the sun set on the desert, changing colors from light orange to dark red. Go sandboarding in the morning at sunrise. Spectacular.

The endless sea of sand was mesmerizing, but don't be fooled by the heat of the day...it gets well cold at night.
