Okahandja, Namibia
There are two crafts markets, one on the north side of town, and a larger one on the south side.  You will find a blend of items obviously made for the mass tourism market, and authentic pieces of traditional art -- everything from wooden figurines of African wildlife, to salt- and pepper-shakers made from warthog bone, to batik wall decorations, Chokwe masks, and full-sized carved coffee tables.  Both kinds mainly come from Kavango region in the northeast, but there are also Himba pieces in some booths -- be careful of the red clay, which will get all over your hands if you handle anything Himba.

as a collector of african art you find a wide range of different curios here. Anything from a small wooden animal to the more intricate jewel. In the sprite of a market and vendors you can always talk the price down just gotta try barter. It adds to the thrill of buying something
