Apr 23, 2010 I've been to Amsterdam three times, and the Red Light District is always one of my first stops....obviously not for the prostitutes, but for the atmosphere! I've never failed to see at least one tourist bus unloading visitors at Casa Rosa. The shopping, food and coffee shops are a great draw in this area. The first time I stayed in Amsterdam my hostel was located on a quiet street in this area of town, and the small door for the hostel was right next to the door for a prostitutes cabin...I saw a few people make the mistake of going into the wrong door, and come out red-faced (and a few more who decided to stay inside!). It really is an interesting part of Amsterdam! Oct 19, 2008 Wow this is like THE must see in Amsterdam, like ifyou've been there and didnt go to the red light district you'r a fool... this is the best place to have fun at night, lots of bars, coffee shops, prostitutes lol, porn theatre!!! everyman dream. It is so funny there specially if you'r with your friends and you can notice that people there are happy so thats makes you happy too.. but never ever try to take a photo to the girls there, it is soo forbidden!! unless you'r silent and stealthy. Of course don't forget to but a gift on any of the countless sexshops there!! Aug 26, 2009 It´s a strange place, and i heard that today the things is diferent. When i was there, in 90's, sex and drugs was the most atractive for people who came from all the word. At that time, late at night, a man ask me how much maney i would like to sell my wife. I lost the chance to be a rich man; in stead, i won a great love. In time: try to eat a tipical street food of Amsterdam: is a sandwich with a nice piece of arenque (concervated in vinager and herbs) and a lot of onion's chops. Sep 18, 2009 Imagine being in a foreign country, alone, unfamiliar with the language, basically lost, and being approached by a stranger on the street attempting to sell you heroin. Well, that was my first experience in the Red Light District. It was a long time ago and times have changed. Needless to say however, the Red Light District was an eye-widening, heart pounding, exciting, and yes, a bit scarey experience for a young man. Good Journeys!
