Residents of Amsterdam are very sociable, and love to get outdoors often with their family or with friends. Vondelpark is a hub of activity for those walking or bicycling. I Love it there,in the summer it's a nice place to just chill out and enjoy the few hot weeks we have here in this sometimes way to cold country,or just to relax after a long day of shopping :P.when it gets a little colder it so nice to just walk there,it's a great place to just clear your mind.it's not to quiet and not to busy,it's so nice.there is a cute little tea house i used to visit a lot.the vondelpark is located in the centre so in 1 minute you can be surrounded with people again.i have had some very nice times there.check it out sometimes

The one time I was here was in 1996, so I imagine it may have changed a bit since. Generally, it was a nice park- think Central Park in size- but there were a more than few spots w/ groups of tough guys hanging about eyeing people. It made the American divorcee I was hitting on a little nervous. ;) There was a HI hostel here that was more expensive than most other Amsterdam hostels.

het vondelpark, mijn tuin, als het ware... ik hoef maar twee minuten te lopen en dan kan ik heerlijk in het groene gras neervallen en de hele middag een boek lezen...en als ik er neit ga zitten dan fiets ik er wel doorheen...is mijn route naar ht uitgaansleven in asmterdam!
