May 29, 2008 The Valkenberg Park is a City Oasis, situated between the railway station and the city centre. It's a lively park which hosts summer festivals, and on an average day, you can find teenage skaters, young families and 30-, 40-, up to 80-somethings enjoying the various aspects of this park. There is a modern fountain as well as a historic one, a glass tea house and a play area for the little ones. On a sunny day you can even find some Italian ice cream! The park is fenced off where it borders a busy road, and on other sides it separated from the Royal Military Academy by a moat. Several exits lead straight into the historic city centre, which is mostly pedestrian only. Close to the park are visitor attractions like the Waalse Kerk, the Grote kerk, the Begijnhof as well as one of the largest outdoor shopping centres of the country Nov 20, 2011 Its a nice park in the certre of Breda. Good for having a picnic in spring and summer. In winter you can walk trough and enjoy a cup of hot choclate in a small café at the park. For children ther's a small playground.
