I have been to the Sky Tower twice now, the second time staying in the SkyCity Hotel Jan 09. Being so close to the Sky Tower was perfect, because it is so central to other activites in the city centre. I'm not one for heights, but I made it right up to the sky deck, a whopping 220m above the ground. The views were something else. I also loved the Orbit restaurant. As you sit and enjoy your meal, the room gently turns all the way around, giving you a 360 degree view over Auckland. There's plenty to do including the Sky Jump which will have you falling to the ground at roughly 46mph! There's also the Sky Walk where you're harnessed in, walking round a 1.2m wide path around the outside of the Tower...192m above the ground. Of course my fear of heights got the better of me. Maybe the thrid time I visit I'll have a bit more courage!

Brilliant..soo beautiful at night...i suggest to book the Orbit Restaurant round 8pm on a clear night and go have a couple pre dinner drinks looking over Auckland City in Sky Lounge and then up to the revolving restaurant the Orbit and enjoy a lovely kiwi meal..the timing is perfect...they have it down to a fine art..it takes one hour to orbit the restaurant as u look out over the city..also suggest you stay at The Hilton Hotel and get a Bow Suite with a huge balcony overlooking Auckland Harbour...amazing..for something different and whacky and cheap but cool..40 dollars will take you on a 2 seater trolley bike ride down to viaduct and back..passing the pubs and people you and a friend can sit in back and wave out and be a dick..its very cool..and the guy is wicked friendly...he is parked at bottom of Skytower

Great place to do a semi-bungee jump. A hundred and fifty-something feet drop. Kiwis claim that it is bigger (by 10ft) than the one in Australia. It's near the bay, the bar area and it's just in the middle of downtown. You wanna be here for New Years, one of the first to receive the year, Kiwis and tourist party all night long.
