Located on the amazing Coromandal Peninsula. Used for a location in Narnia: Prince Caspian. After a 15 minute walk down a track you arrive at a beach that is pure bliss. The walk itself is lovely with a mixture of inclines and flat with quite a lot of steps down to the actual beach. Once on the beach you can either opt to stay in that section or walk through a cave to another section of beach (the section used in Narnia: Prince Caspian) Truly fantastic! A must on anyones list who is visiting New Zealand

actually not whitianga, but only a short ride (take the ferry that takes you on the other side of the harbour for $2, best would be if you got a bike as well) from the harbour. awesome coastline, many limestones and holes in rocks. amazing on a fine day, try to go after midday, as the sun is in a bad position in the morning (if you wanna take some pix ;) )

If you like hiking, beach, and landscape... Cathedral Cove is the place... It almost 1 hour or more to go to Cathedral Cove from the parking lot... But after that you will see a wonderful beaches and big cove... Oh, and if you see Narnia Prince Caspian... Cathedral Cove was one of the setting of this movie...

One of the nicest Spots of the Coromandel Peninsula. To get there you have to take a nice, easy walk (aprox. an hour) along the coastside with nice views and landscape till you finally come to al lot of steps to enter one of the nicest beaches of NZ. White sand, clear water .... awesome!! :-)
