Right outside Rotorua, this area features a gondola trip to the top of the mountain and then riding the luge back down!

The Luge is an exciting ride for all ages. A world 'first' proudly designed and built in Rotorua, the Luge is a fun filled ride on a three-wheel cart. The unique braking and steering system provides the rider full control and allows them to travel as fast or slow as they wish.

Three separate concrete sealed tracks wind through the redwood trees. Children under six are able to be carried in tandem. Riders return to the top of the luge on a specially designed chairlift system.

Over six million riders have enjoyed the Luge ride experience to date. Full instructional information and key do's and don'ts are provided prior to riding the Luge.

Best place ever!!!

You will ride the Gondola to reach the top...where you will do the Luge and Skyswing...I love the LUGE! its 2km down the top with 3 different routes....you will get the scenic one first then the intermediate and if you are brave enough you can go to the advance route.

It is quite thrilling...I would do it all over and all over again when I go back there. I love the place...it was my MUST DO things when I go to NZ...and totally worth it!!!!!

You get a great view of Rotorua and the lake on the way up. The luge is great fun - even on the beginners scenic track. We could have kept going all afternoon.

A really fun way to spend the afternoon. We loved racing down on the luge and then catching the lift back up for a little snack overlooking Rotorua and the lake!

Gotta love it - have done some serious damage to body parts and jewelery, but heaps of fun every time! wouldn't go to Rotorua without visiting the Luge.
